Wedding Season

It is the season for weddings. Saturday was the wedding of friends from work and luckily the rain stayed away. My cupcakes made an appearance!

As part of the hen weekend we were asked to prepare a gift for the bride that represented how we met. I knitted this but won’t bore you with the story….

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

Elijah is a pattern by Ysolda. I knitted him in Milla Mia yarn in the colourway “Forget-me-not” and I love him! Yarn was purchased as always from my LYS Littlehoundaleknits

I am also working on a lovely scarf called “Kelly” by Louisa Harding. It uses the yarn Albero, which I am loving working in. This project was my introduction to lace knitting on big needles and with thicker yarn. It’s not perfect but as a first effort I am pleased and the yarn was lovely to learn with!

I can also reveal the surprise birthday knitting! Toe-up socks in Natural Dye Studio’s Dazzle in Atlantic colourway. A joy to knit with!

In other creative news this week I have tried my hand at sugarcraft. A friend in a local village is running some introductory classes for fun so I jumped at the chance of “having a go”. Week 1 and I created this!

I am a little bit impressed with my efforts I have to say!! Can’t wait for next week!
